Let’s face it… mom is the backbone upon which all other family members rely for support. Taking care of your own health is vital to your family’s health & wellness.   Chiropractic care is essential for the pregnant mother as her systems and organs are now providing for two and their optimal function is critical for a healthy pregnancy and birth.

Prenatal & Postpartum Services

The mother's spine and pelvis undergo many changes and adaptations to compensate for the growing baby. The average weight gain of 25-35 pounds, combined with the stress placed on a woman’s body by the baby, can result in significant discomfort. Studies show that up to 80% of women will experience back pain during their pregnancies. Regular chiropractic care during pregnancy can decrease and even prevent the common aches and pains that go along with pregnancy:

  • Low back pain
  • Sciatica
  • Mid back and rib pain
  • Pubic symphysis pain and dysfunction
  • Hip Pain
  • Discomfort in arms and legs
  • Irritability
  • Headaches

Visits to your prenatal chiropractor prepares the pelvis for an easier pregnancy and birth. Proper pelvic alignment allows for a faster labor, with less chance of awkward fetal positioning.

One study showed that women who were adjusted during pregnancy had 25% shorter labors than women who were not. This percentage went up to 36% in women who were delivering their second or third babies.
